[ If there was one thing Akihiko was sure of, it was that Junpei was out of his mind. That was the only explanation for what he'd said that morning, and though Akihiko had made great effort to shrug the incident off his shoulders, his classmate's words had stuck and lingered in his mind throughout the day. True, he and Mitsuru had always been close, but that was just because they were so comfortable around each other, wasn't it? Because that was the way things had always been. Admittedly, there were things that they did and said now that were new developments, and they were definitely close, but... dating?

And yet, according to Junpei, the signs were all there. Reaching over to take her hand as they walked down the street had become more of a reflex than anything, and one that in his mind, was protective and practical. Romantic? The thought had never even occurred to him. The same went for the numerous favors he did on her behalf. Nor had he thought anything about how he had exchanged more text messages with Mitsuru than with anyone else in his contacts combined.

Was he opposed to the idea of being more than Mitsuru's friend? Not exactly... but Mitsuru had never shown any signs (or so he thinks, it's not like he would have been able to read any such signs anyway) of interest in him as anything more.

He feels crazy seeking her out like this, and he swears he's going to punch Junpei's face in once he makes his way back downstairs. The other boy's ideas always got him into trouble, and this would likely be no exception. Yet here he is, standing at her door and looking incredibly unsure. He knocks gently. ]
